Selby Striders Club Championship – Rules and Regulations


  • The championship will consist of 11 races (1 per month, April to February inclusive)

  • There is a mixture of race distances, terrains, and days of the week

  • Male and Female categories

  • Bonus points for attendance, volunteering and completing all the races

  • Open to first and second claim members, but events must be entered and run as a Selby Strider

2023-2024 Latest scores:

Completion of a race = 25 pts (was 50 pts for 2023-24)
1st Strider home = 50 pts, 2nd = 45 pts, 3rd = 40 pts etc. down to 5 pts (everyone from here would get 5 pts)

Bonus points:
Up to 2 x volunteer at parkrun = 25 pts each time
Up to 2 x volunteer at Junior parkrun = 25 pts each time
1 x support at a club event / social (e.g. Stag v Monkey, Couch25k) = 25 pts (was 50 pts for 2023-24)
2 x volunteer at Wistow 10k (Summer and October) = 25 pts each time (was 50 pts for 2023-24)
Complete all championship events = 50 pts (was 100 pts for 2023-24)

  • 11th June 2023 Hull Half Marathon

  • 19th July 2023 Laxton 10k

  • 2nd August 2023 Howden Ashes 5k

  • 10th September 2023 Vale of York Half Marathon

  • 15th October 2023 Yorkshire Coast 10k (Scarborough)

  • 19th November 2023 Tadcaster 10 mile

  • 10th December 2023 Ravenscar – EYCCL cross country

  • 27th January 2024 Dalby Forest Head Torch Run

  • 18th February 2024 Snake Lane 10 mile

How do I enter?
You don’t need to, as long you you follow the rules and are a paid up Strider. If you enter the races as a Strider you will be automatically included in the championship.
Scores and placings will be updated shortly on this website shortly after each counting race, with prizes awarded at the AGM (in March).
You will just need to supply evidence for your parkrun volunteering slots.
